Early spring wildflower. Can be planted as a seasonal groundcover in a shady location.

Not salt tolerant of inundation by salty or brackish water.



Low/no tolerance of salty wind or direct salt spray

Swamps, floodplains, wet flatwoods, bogs, savannas.
